We are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected social housing provider that is seeking a Temporary Housing Officer to assist with managing a portfolio of properties and providing high-quality tenant support.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Housing Officer to join a dedicated team on a temporary basis. The role will involve managing day-to-day housing operations, handling tenant queries, and ensuring that properties and tenancies are well-maintained. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where problem-solving and excellent customer service are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tenancy Management: Oversee tenancy agreements, perform property inspections, and manage tenancy changes such as terminations and exchanges.
- Tenant Support: Assist tenants with a range of housing issues, including rent payments, welfare advice, and general queries.
- Rent & Arrears: Monitor rent accounts, manage arrears, and liaise with tenants to provide advice on payment options and support with financial difficulties.
- Property Maintenance: Coordinate and oversee repair works, ensuring properties meet high standards.
- Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB): Respond to complaints and resolve cases of ASB, working with external agencies as needed.
- Compliance & Legislation: Ensure all housing activities comply with relevant housing legislation and regulatory standards.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Housing Officer, ideally within the social housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of housing management, including tenancy agreements, rent collection, and property maintenance.
- Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour and tenant disputes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a wide range of people.
- A proactive, organised approach to managing caseloads and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
