Hyperion Partners is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a renowned luxury hotel in the heart of London. We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join the team and ensure the smooth operation of all facilities, enhancing the guest experience in this prestigious setting.
About the Role:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to the highest standards. You will ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently, resolve any issues promptly, and perform both reactive and preventative maintenance to support the hotel’s smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure minimal disruption to hotel operations and guests
- Collaborate with hotel management and external contractors to plan and oversee major repairs and renovations
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment malfunctions, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs, ensuring proper documentation is kept up to date
- Assist with energy-saving initiatives and sustainability measures across the hotel’s infrastructure
- Carry out minor carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks as required
- Be available for emergency call-outs and provide a rapid response to urgent maintenance issues
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, ideally within a hotel or similar hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical services
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and liaise with external contractors
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations and risk management practices
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work on a shift basis, including weekends and holidays
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, electrical, plumbing, or a related field
- Experience in luxury or high-end hospitality environments is advantageous but not essential
