We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and customer-focused Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) to join a well-established social housing provider on a temporary basis. This role is key to maintaining positive relationships between residents, contractors, and the housing organisation during planned works and maintenance projects.
The Role:
As a Resident Liaison Officer, you will act as the main point of contact between residents and the project team, ensuring effective communication and minimising disruption during ongoing maintenance, repairs, or improvement works in social housing properties. This role is crucial for managing tenant expectations and ensuring works are completed with minimal inconvenience to residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Engagement: Build strong relationships with tenants, providing clear communication regarding planned works, schedules, and progress updates.
- Complaint Management: Address any concerns, complaints, or issues raised by residents promptly and professionally, working closely with contractors to resolve problems.
- Access and Coordination: Arrange property access for contractors, ensuring residents are informed of dates and times for works to be completed.
- Support for Vulnerable Tenants: Identify and provide additional support to vulnerable tenants, ensuring their specific needs are considered during project works.
- Resident Satisfaction: Monitor resident satisfaction and feedback throughout the project, ensuring a high standard of customer service is maintained.
- Health and Safety: Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed during works, and keep residents informed of any potential hazards or disruptions.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of resident communications, property access, and any concerns or complaints, ensuring documentation is up to date.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous Experience: Proven experience in a similar Resident Liaison Officer role, particularly within social housing or construction projects.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle challenging situations tactfully and professionally.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
- Customer-Focused: A commitment to providing excellent customer service, with a genuine desire to support residents through potentially disruptive works.
- Organisation: Highly organised with strong time management skills, capable of managing a busy workload and coordinating multiple tasks.
- IT Skills: Competent in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software to maintain records and documentation.
